What
My creations are constructed with fabric and thread using machines and technology as my tools.
They are interpretations of images that capture my attention along my journey.
Constructed using traditional quilt-building techniques, but assembled using a more modern method.
The goal is to create a quilt that challenges the genre by using an unexpected visual at the core.

How
I typically start with a three-dimensional image that I manipulate using software, resulting in one that is two-dimensional, thinking through color choices and desired effects. Then on to the construction plan.
I select the fabric colors that will be used and cut shapes using paper as a guide.
Assembly usually involves trial and error and a bit of hair-pulling, but the process is very rewarding.
Why
I’ve always been involved in graphic design in all of my life stages. In this stage I discovered the creative expression of modern quilt making by accident after seeing a magazine cover in an airport. After one lesson, I decided I’d never follow through, but when I figured out my own unique process, I was instantly connected, and continue to be for over 10 years now.

I was born in New York City, and raised in the Bronx and Queens, but learned about life in Lower Manhattan.
Surrounded by canyons of architecture, I was always looking up. I continue to look up, but now my canyons are the earth below and the sky above. The high desert of the southwestern U.S. is now my home.
